A Fashion Film Exploring Identity and Desire

Reincarnation is a visually striking fashion film that blurs the lines between mystery, fantasy, and identity. Created as my no-budget Bachelor project in 2020, the film explores the psychological and transformative power of clothingthrough an enigmatic story: A group of young individuals, obsessed with a woman from an elite background, infiltrates her home. As they slip into her garments, they enter an alternate reality, where self-expression and statusdissolve into something more profound.

More than just a cinematic experiment, Reincarnation doubled as a strategic ad format for the sustainable Swedish fashion brand H.O.L., aligning with my passion for storytelling in fashion. The production demanded resourcefulness, leadership, and creative ingenuity, ultimately delivering a compelling, high-fashion aesthetic despite budget constraints.

Behind the Scenes

Creative Vision & Concept:

A visually immersive film blending fashion, fantasy, and psychological tension.

Themed around clothing as a portal to transformation, where characters lose themselves in a dreamlike reality.

Contrasting Aesthetics & Duality:

Grunge-inspired world: Dark, moody atmosphere with black leather, biker jackets, boots, and harnesses.

Vibrant fantasy world: African-inspired patterns, innovative materials, and warm, celebratory hues.

Cinematic color contrast:

The break-in world is drenched in deep blues, evoking mystery and unease.

The fantasy world glows in red and orange, symbolizing elevation and transformation.

Production & Execution:

Full creative ownership: Concept, crew assembly, styling, and artistic direction.

Led a team of 35 people across two 12-hour shoot days.

Directed actors & managed on-set logistics, including location scouting, lighting, catering, and makeup.

Integrated greenscreen techniques to merge scenes seamlessly—overcoming the complexity of shifting perspectives.

Brand Collaboration:

Partnered with H.O.L., a Malmö-based sustainable fashion brand supporting LGBTQIA+ identities.

Established direct brand communication, ensuring mutual benefit through fashion campaign content.

Created an adaptable video format for H.O.L.’s social media and marketing efforts.

Challenges & Solutions:
